Things You Can Do Right Now To Utilize Your "Free-Time" to Be Productive

It's easy to tell yourself to relax. Though, sometimes we simply just don't want to do anything. Whether it is because you've exhausted yourself or you've already finished your tasks for the day. If you're anything like me, you do not like having nothing to do. In reality, there is always things to do, whether it's chores, a task you didn't finish from yesterday, and so on. This article will go in detail on what to do when you literally have nothing to do.

Go Through Your Closet - Clean it out!

Tired of opening up the closet only to be buried under an avalanche of old tennis rackets, unread books, shoes, and clothing? That fuzzy green polyester sweater that Aunt Harriet got you last Christmas that you wouldn't be caught dead in and has been hanging out in the back of the monster that is your closet? Sell it! One man's trash is another man's treasure.

It's really easier said than done. I absolutely hate cleaning out my closet. Cleaning your closet, if you have a TON of stuff in there, like mine has, is extremely time consuming. Though it's time consuming, you'll instantly be 100x less cluttered. With all the random clothes and shoes that you have stuffed away in your closet you can make extra room and give yourself a sense of accomplishment. You can also put a little extra jingle in your pocket by selling those unused threads to consignment stores or in online market places.

Volunteer

This one may not something you can do instantly, depending on where you're thinking about volunteering at. But nonetheless, this should definitely be added. Why? Why not? Volunteering speaks for itself. Not everyone is selfless enough to volunteer, but if you are - thats amazing. Check around in your community on where to volunteer. Usually, hospitals, nursing homes, animal shelters, and food banks are accepting of new volunteers all the time. If you have a passion for caring for others, volunteering is for you. Not only do you get the wonderful feeling of being apart of a team, you gave back to the community in a beautiful way; and something like that is priceless.

If volunteering is not your thing, that's okay! There are plenty of other things you can do to be more productive.

Deep Clean Your Home

Not everyone enjoys the pleasures of c leaning, especially deep cleaning. I on the other hand, love cleaning and deep cleaning. When I know my house is clean, the vibe is more comfortable-like. Question; Look up from your screen right now. Are there dishes that need washed? Do the floors need vacuumed and mopped? Does your bathroom look like a C4 just exploded and there's debris everywhere? If you answered yes to any of the questions, you my friend, need to clean your house. Clean the hell out of that house while you're at it.

My house consists of 2 cats and 1 dog, so I especially need to make sure my house is clean at all times possible. From animal fur on the hardwood floors, to the cats trying to kick their litter out of their litter box, to my dog tracking his muddy paws from outside, inside. Don't get me wrong, cleaning all the time is very frustrating. If you live by yourself, your home probably isn't hard to keep up with. I clean everyday, but I deep clean about once a week. That includes windows, pressure washing the house, cleaning out the pantry, cleaning behind the fridge, I could seriously go on forever. If you haven't cleaned in awhile and you have time on your side, then take the day or a couple of hours to deep clean. You may be exhausted afterwards but you'll love the results.

Clean Out Your Phone

Still have pictures and videos of your ex? Do you have apps downloaded that you literally never use? Then I've got news for you! Cleaning out your phone is another excellent way to declutter your life. No, I'm not talking about literally cleaning your phone with a wipe, I'm talking about deleting old files, pictures, unused apps, etc.

You might not realize how many random, unnecessary files you have downloaded on your phone. Those files use storage, though usually very low storage; nonetheless, deleting the files will increase your phones available storage space. Not only will cleaning out your files increase storage space, it will also improve your phones' overall performance. It's a win-win. Plus, cleaning out your phone doesn't take long and it's not like you have to take out the garabage! You can do it from the comfort of your own bed! It's actually a win-win-win.

*P.S...If using iPhone, don't forget to delete permanently when deleting photos and videos!
